Milla is a 28-year-old soprano living in Helsinki. More than just a classical singer, Milla also sings bossa nova and accompanies herself on guitar. However, when she was a child she wanted to be a princess.
Milla's upcoming performances include a cycle of songs composed by Itzam Zapata, more of her bossa nova act, and the roles of Ninfa and Proserpina in Metropolia's production of L'Orfeo by Monteverdi.
- What's good and what's not-so-good about being a singer?
I like the sport-like practicing routine, and I also like how artistic work is so all-encompassing. On the other hand, it's not so good that your own identity gets easily mixed up with your work identity. Even on my free time I'm still a singer, and sometimes it seems a bit unhealthy.
- What other interests and hobbies do you have?
Yoga, pilates, food, phonetics and makeup.
- Tell us something about yourself that others don't necessarily know!
I pretend to be social, but in reality I'm quite introvert. (In Finnish: nuuskamuikkusmainen. But you'd have to know the cartoon 'Moomins' to get that.)
